Baan Muangkung have been transmitted their skills and knowledge through generations for more than 200 years.
Several kinds of potteries with traditional style can be found here such as Nam Ton or Khon To (Water pot or flagon),
Nam Mor (Round shaped drinking water pot), Mor Dok (Flower vast), kerosene pottery lamp, and big water jar.
🍀SOCIAL IMPACT:
This expedition supports Baan Muangkung community to create awareness of the community for travel. The community has artistic potential with the local wisdom of pottery to attract travelers and we can contribute the culture preservation.
🍀ITINERARY:
Pick up from hotel in Chiang Mai City Center
Visit at Baan Muangkung, in front of the Baan Muangkung Local Wisdom Education Center (there will be a large statue of a vase in front).
Listen to the story of Baan Muangkung, before setting off on a tour of the community.
Recharge before your next activity. Enjoy local Thai snacks and desserts, as well as water from a traditional clay jar and use a paper straw instead of a plastic one.Begin the wheel throwing pottery workshop (paan jaak in the local dialect) with close guidance from the locals potters of Baan Muangkung
