EDGE OF MEKONG VILLAGE HOMESTAY

This expedition is part of a community development fund ensuring that every traveler’s spending goes to support local people and reduce rural-urban migration.

• DAY1: UBON Arrival (-/-/D)

Upon arrival at UBONs airport/bus terminal/ train station (arrival time to be advised), your local guide will pick you up. You can then freshen up at a café/local restaurant and grab some coffee or a snack to start the day.
We will then take a 2-hour drive from UBON city to Khemmarat, where you will check in to your community homestay.
In the afternoon, we will explore the riverside town of Khemmarat by visiting some temples and a market.
Dinner will be served at the homestay.
Overnight: Simple and comfortable homestay, bedding and mosquito net are provided.

• DAY2: Mekong Folk Life (B/L/D)

Breakfast will be served at the homestay.
Then we will take you to see a home clothing factory. Here you can learn about the traditional weaving process and see how they make clothes from cotton.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
If you arrive at the village, during the dry season you will go on a boat trip. We will take you to see a part of Grand Canyon of Thailand emerge from the water and become an amazing natural wonder in the middle of the Mekong River. During the raining season, we can have a roasted tea workshop with the local people instead.
You will have some leisure time for the rest of the day.
Dinner will be served at the homestay.
Overnight: Simple and comfortable homestay, bedding and mosquito net are provided.

• DAY3: Ubon Departure (B/-/-)

Breakfast at homestay.
Late in the morning, check out and you will be led to the airport/ bus terminal/ train station/ Thai-Laos border in Ubon Ratchathani.
