 MANGROVE VILLAGE HOMESTAY, CBT Baan Laem Makham

 

The mangrove village or Baan Laem Makham is a small village in Laem Ngop area where is a small port town approximately 17 kilometres southwest of Trat. There are a few ferry piers that a lot of people will be passed this village skip to the famous islands such as Koh Chang, Koh Kood and Koh Mak. But do not miss like anyone, here is a lot of things to stop and get the wonderful local experiences.

 

 Activities and Experiences:

DAY1: Trat Arrival

Upon arrival to Trat’s airport/bus terminal (arrival time # to be advised), your local guide will pick you up and lead you to have a relaxing time at the black sand beach on the way to the mangrove village.

Lunch at local restaurant.

And you will be lead to the village for check-in to your homestay and meet with the home host. Balance the day at your leisure.

Dinner with local family.

Overnight at Homestay Baan Laem Makham.

 

DAY2: Mangrove Village Homestay

7.30 am, let’s start the lamp shells hunting boat trip. Ride the boat thru mangrove forest to the sea where you can try to find lamp shells (the water level is not too deep, around 1-meter depth and life jackets available), some snack will be served on the boat during you enjoy swimming in the sea. Then return to homestay around 9.30 am, take a shower and have breakfast.

Then we will take village sightseeing tour by ‘Sa Leng’ or local sidecar to visit the main attractions such as Local Museum House with the story of King Rama V, Laem Makham temple (temple of Buddhist and Muslim) and 100 years old Wooden Figures House.

Lunch at local restaurant.

After sidecar tour, we will stop by handicraft house where you will have a chance to learn how to make signature palm leaf hats of this village. You can also make your own hat and get it as a souvenir.

Dinner with local family.

Overnight at Homestay Baan Laem Makham.

 

DAY3: Trat Departure

Breakfast at homestay.

Late in the morning, check-out and say goodbye to your home host and you will be lead to Upon arrival at airport/bus terminal in Trat. 

 

NOTE: All activities could be changed and flexible depend on the weather and village’s situation without notice prior to arrival date.
