A LEISURE DAY AT FISHERMAN HOUSE

This expedition supports two local communities Kok Kam Community, a sea salt farm village, and Santor Community, a Bangkok coastline fisherman village.

• You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and then driven by private vehicle to a seashore in Bangkok where you can explore the local and traditional way of life. (This will take approximately an hour from Bangkok city center). You will then explore the only district in Bangkok located in the Gulf of Thailand.

• First we will visit a local sea salt farm community. The local family you will be visiting are amiable people and are happy to provide information on how to create a salt farm, the different types of salt and how salt is extracted from the seawater. (Depending on availability you may be able to walk on the top layer of the salt like in a natural foot spa).

• Then you will go on a boat ride to the fisherman's village. No roads connect the village, which means that boat is the only way in. You will have a seafood lunch at a fisherman’s house, which is located on the water.

• The main job of the local people is fishing. However, they are very conscious of their impact and limit the fishing area for each household so that the surrounding mangrove forest will not be destroyed. The use of chemicals is also strictly forbidden here.

• You can also enjoy home cooking, cockles or crab picking, swimming and kayaking.

• We will return you to your hotel in the late afternoon.
